Garlic Green Beans

Jon's accomplishments are modest each day, and perhaps his biggest contribution to the larger community (our extended family) was a big bowl of garlic green beans. Not big enough, but that was my fault, not his. I picked the beans and brought back what looked like a big pile. No one got to eat as many as they would want, but that is generally true with his beans. And they were without a doubt the most beautiful beans of 2025, but that's another story.

Other than that, there was a lot of football and baseball to watch today, and small meals to eat throughout the day. There were no Kaiser trips. There were no indications of backsliding. There was even a little less crankiness than recently.

We missed going to a wedding celebration this weekend, and that was sad, but the father of the bride is Jon's college roommate Ed, and he and Beth came to visit Jon this afternoon, which was very nice of them. They brought some yummy wedding food and told Jon about the party we missed.

Jon hasn't really wanted to go outside and look around (like I would) but I think that's because he really can't do anything yet, so it would be frustrating to see all the things he is not doing.

Today Benjamin went back to the temple to take down the sukkah (remember, this has been Jon's job for the last 30 years or so). He had arranged to get help from Anibal, the building maintenance person who has helped Jon put up and take down the sukkah in recent years.  Before Benjamin rounded up the tools and the vehicle to get there after Sunday school had cleared out, he got a call from Anibal -- he had some extra time, so he took it down by himself. That was so nice. Benjamin just had to go and pick up all the lumber and bring it back and store it. If Benjamin is back in Israel next year, then Stephen may inherit the sukkah job. There is always a Plan B.

Oh, Jon got his lab results back. Platelets are still low, most other numbers are also low and his M-spike is also low (that's a good thing). It seems that we will just keep focusing on the nutrition. His weight is going up, and that's a good thing for sure.
