No Infusions Today

Jon says this may end up being the easiest day of all the post-transplant days -- they took some blood, got the results and let him go home.  That is as good as it gets. He had a nap today but he was less wiped out than the days before this one.

I did not have a nap today and I am ready for a lazy day (it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow and never get out of the low 40's, that sounds ideal for lounging).  I worked all day on Saturday and all day on Sunday -- there were big social gatherings going on all around for Passover and Easter but since I am in quarantine, I just waved at people from the tractor.  By the end of the weekend, we are once again all set for the crew to keep planting for the next 10 days or so. The farm looks beautiful, all the plants that are in the ground have good color and are growing slowly in this slow, cool spring. The crabapples and cherries and dogwoods are in full bloom. This is the most blooming gorgeous month.

I did have a few very nice opportunities to visit with people -- Yael's parents are here and I finally got to meet them after all these years. We feel like we know each other already, thanks to video chatting and emailing, but it was so nice to sit at the picnic table together, admiring our granddaughter and enjoying the sun.  And last night I had dinner with my friend-for-45-years-so-far Julia who has been on the farm since the middle of March -- I tried to cook all the vegetables that are languishing in the fridge now that we have abandoned our kitchen. The temperature last night was perfect for a long evening on the porch. The full moon was the icing on the cake.

We are down to just the two of us now -- Rebecca is finally "unbubbled." She got to have family dinner indoors at Anna's with everyone.  We are in for the long haul here with no plans to go home again for at least 10 days. I brought Nell's piano back to Baltimore tonight and I have a big stack of books. Jon is breaking speed records with the crossword puzzles. We are hunkering down.
